Are you thinking of Moving to Connecticut?  Here are a few towns in the immediate area you may be interested in.

Waterbury is the big City in the Area.  Located about an hour from New Haven.  Waterbury has several Large Retailers such as Target, Home Depot, and the Brass Mill Mall.  Waterbury also has several highways for easy connectivity to the rest of the state.  These include, I84, Route 8, and Route 69.  The City also has 2 Large Hospitals, Saint Mary’s and Waterbury Hospital.  While home prices are typically lower than the surrounding towns, the taxes are quite a bit higher and lot sizes are usually small.  All Homes are City Water and Sewer.

Prospect is a small town and does not Have the larger retailers or Hospitals that Waterbury has.  Prospect does have several parks for it’s residents to enjoy.  The biggest Name National brand in town is a Dunkin’ Donuts and a Subway.  Prospect is about 35 minutes from New Haven and Hartford.  The Home prices are higher, but Lot size is typically larger and property taxes are the lowest of these 4 towns. Most Homes are Septic and Well Water.

Wolcott is a medium sized town and does not Have the larger retailers or Hospitals that Waterbury has.  Wolcott has several grocery stores, and Banks.  It is approximately 45 minutes from New Haven and Hartford.  The Home prices are between Waterbury and Prospect’s prices, but Lot size is typically similar to Prospect.  The property taxes are also in the middle of these 4 towns. Most Homes are Septic and Well Water.

Naugatuck is a medium sized town similar to Wolcott and does Have the larger retailers like Walmart, Stop & Shop, etc. The nearest  Hospitals are again, Waterbury.    It is approximately 45 minutes from New Haven and Hartford.  The Home prices are between Waterbury and Prospect’s prices, but Lot size is typically smaller than Wolcott or Prospect.  The property taxes are also in the middle of these 4 towns. Most Homes are City Water and Sewer.
